I am thinking about the navigator. I used to take the phone book map with me, when looking for a direction in a car. Now the navigator guides me where I need to go, easily and effortlessly. Even if I stray a little, it quickly puts me back on track.
In order to work properly the navigator needs three things. Even the most sophisticated navigator would not work if there was no clear starting point. When we set goals in our everyday life it is important to first recognize where we are, so that we wouldn’t make unrealistic travel plans considering the time available and the condition of the car. And there are coffee breaks as well, after all. By recognizing and owning the facts of now is a prerogative for starting the journey and making it to the destination. We cannot do anything about bumps in the road, but if we are smart, perhaps we can avo
In order for the navigator to guide us, it has to know the end destination. The information has to be precise. Park street 5 can be found in many states and many cities. If I choose the wrong city, I won’t make it on time. Strategy is the navigator for the company and its staff, a guideline into the future. But what will happen when there are five simultaneous end destinations? Will the navigator lose its meaning and we will stay at the starting point, or will we start to spin around in circles?
Thirdly, the navigator is of no use if it runs out of power. The car can have a working power source, but sometimes the proper cord is missing and we cannot recharge the battery. In addition, the car has to work and it has to have petrol in the tank in order for us to get to where we are going. We have to make sure that the employees have the power and the will to go towards the desired destination.
When we give the navigator a right starting point, a common goal and a proper power source, we will get there, no matter now long or difficult the journey.
